NCR SYSTEM IS OFFICIALLY BACK ONLINE

Dear Readers

Welcome back, and if you're new here, I’m really glad you found your way to this page, especially at a time like this.

In my previous POST, we spoke about the frustration many consumers have faced while waiting to be removed from debt review, despite doing everything right. But today, I bring you an important update: ‘The NCR System Is Back Up’.

But Here’s What You Must Know

The National Credit Regulator (NCR) system, known as the Debt Help System (DHS), is finally coming back online after weeks of delays that left thousands of consumers stuck in financial limbo. But before you celebrate, there’s something very important you need to understand. Not all updates will happen at once. The NCR is now working through a phased update process, meaning cases will be handled in stages, depending on your status on the system.

What Does This Mean for You?

Your debt review status, whether still under review, paid up, awaiting clearance or flagged under categories like D3, PDA, or UID groups, will determine when your profile gets updated.

So even though the system is back, you may still experience delays, your status might not change immediately, and others may be updated before you. Understand that this is not a personal or deliberate delay from your debt counsellor, but it’s a system backlog being processed in batches.

Why This Matters More Than Ever

Even now, your credit profile might still reflect “Under Debt Review” or “Debt Counselling Flag Active”, and because of that, your home loan can still be declined, car finance can still be blocked, and credit applications may still fail even if you’ve paid everything.

What You Should Be Doing RIGHT NOW

This is where most people get it wrong: they wait but don’t wait, prepare!

1. Confirm Your Status Group

Speak to your debt counsellor and ask what your current NCR status is and where you fall in the update phases.

2. Get Your Documents Ready

Make sure you have the paid-up letters, settlement letters or clearance certificate (if issued).

3. Check Your Credit Profile

Don’t assume, verify! Look at the debt review flag, account statuses and any incorrect listings.

4. Do NOT Rush Applications Yet

Applying too early can lead to declines, damage your score further and delay your approval later.

5. Start Positioning Yourself

This is your advantage period. While others are waiting in frustration, you should be fixing errors on your profile, reducing balances where possible and building a clean payment history.

How Can I Help You?
